AMPM is making the “Royal Fortresses of Languedoc” exhibition available to the sites of the serial property. Designed to support the promotion of the serial property, it is currently touring the various sites in the network.

An exhibition to discover the serial property

Through texts, images and educational maps, the exhibition invites visitors to discover the history of the “Royal Fortresses of Languedoc” and to understand the serial property and the specific features of the eight fortresses: their emblematic defensive architecture, their role within the territory, and their setting in the landscapes of Languedoc. It also presents the concepts of World Heritage and Outstanding Universal Value.

Highlighting the Outstanding Universal Value

The exhibition provides interpretive keys to better understand the elements that underpin the property’s Outstanding Universal Value. It presents the characteristics of the defensive system established in the 13th century by the Capetian Crown and enables visitors to better grasp the coherence of the fortified ensemble.
