In 2025, the World Heritage Mission Association (AMPM) launched the development of a heritage interpretation plan covering all the Royal Fortresses of Languedoc.
How should the Royal Fortresses of Languedoc be presented? Which audiences should be addressed, and in what ways? Which on-site tools should be relied upon? How can a shared narrative and an overall interpretation strategy be built at the scale of the territory? These are all questions the plan will need to answer with the support of local stakeholders: elected officials, technical staff, heritage professionals, and representatives of associations.
Objectives
To enhance the quality of the cultural and interpretation offer across all sites, in order to better welcome visitors and better convey the Outstanding Universal Value of the property nominated for UNESCO World Heritage status.
